Don't Say You Love Me... Really, Don't [Jun. 19th, 2006|01:41 am]
Pokémon: The First Movie. It was good. I liked it. The main theme song, however... Don't Say You Love Me by M2M. For those fortunate enough to have not heard it, the first part of the chorus is as follows...

Don't say you love me
You don't even know me
If you really want me
Then give me some time

Hmm, all lines that end in "me". But that's not what this is about. How exactly does that song fit the movie? It has nothing to do with the story, or with Pokémon as a whole. It's rediculous.

So, I have rewritten Mewtwo Strikes Back in order to make the song fit. I don't know why 4Kids didn't think of this...

Mewtwo: "So you do have some fight in you. But l have no time for games. Destiny is at hand. Who will rule? My super Pokémon? Or your pathetic group of spineless inferior Pokémon? We were created with powers far stronger than the originals."
Mew: "Mew! Mew mew mew! Mew mew!"
Meowth: "Mew's got a good point."
Jessie: "What's it saying?"
Meowth: "It's sayin' "Why are you doing this, Mewtwo? I love you!""
Mewtwo: "Don't say you love me! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME!"
fight scene commences

A better main theme would have been If Only Tears Could Bring You Back by Midnight Sons, also included on the movie's soundtrack.
